At Assisi Niketan Convent School, discipline is not merely about rules — it is a way of life rooted in the values of St. Francis of Assisi. Respect, responsibility, and integrity are not imposed from outside; they are cultivated from within through daily example and gentle guidance.
Our School Code of Conduct is communicated clearly to every student and parent through the School Diary at the beginning of each academic year. All students are expected to uphold these standards with pride — as a reflection of the school they represent.

Uniform & Appearance
- Students must attend school in full, clean school uniform on all school days, examination days, and school events
- Hair should be neatly groomed; girls must wear hair tied at all times during school hours
- Jewellery, excessive accessories, and nail polish are not permitted
- School shoes and socks as specified in the uniform guidelines must be worn every day
- Sports uniform to be worn on designated PE days only

Attendance & Punctuality
- A minimum of 90% attendance is required for appearing in final examinations
- Students must arrive before the first bell — late arrivals must report to the office for a late pass
- Leave of absence must be pre-approved in writing by a parent or guardian through the School Diary
- Habitual lateness or unexplained absence will be taken seriously by the school administration
Attendance below 90% may result in the student being declared ineligible for final examinations. There are no exceptions to this rule.

Behaviour & Language
- English is the mandatory medium of communication within school premises at all times
- Respectful, polite behaviour towards all teachers, staff, fellow students, and visitors is non-negotiable
- Bullying, fighting, or any form of verbal or physical harassment will not be tolerated under any circumstances
- Students are expected to stand when a teacher enters the classroom and respond courteously to all adults
- Mobile phones, electronic devices, and non-school books are strictly prohibited on campus without written permission

School Property & Cleanliness
- Students must treat all school property, furniture, and facilities with care and respect
- Any wilful damage to school property will be addressed seriously; the student/parent may be required to bear the cost of repair
- The school campus must be kept clean — use designated dustbins and maintain the cleanliness of classrooms, corridors, and grounds
- Valuable items and jewellery should not be brought to school; the school is not responsible for their loss

Examinations & Academic Integrity
- Any form of malpractice during examinations will result in immediate disciplinary action and cancellation of the paper
- Students must not communicate with other students during examinations
- Cheating, plagiarism, or copying in assignments will be treated as a serious breach of academic integrity
- Report cards must be acknowledged and returned by parents within the stipulated period

Disciplinary Action
- Minor violations will be addressed through counselling, parent communication, or detention as appropriate
- Repeated or serious violations may result in suspension for a defined period
- In extreme cases, the school reserves the right to dismiss a student whose conduct is incompatible with the values and standards of Assisi Niketan
- All disciplinary decisions made by the Principal are final and binding
The school follows a restorative, compassionate approach to discipline — the goal is always growth, not punishment. However, the safety and well-being of the entire community must be protected.
