Beyond the Classroom:
Sport & Play

At Assisi Niketan, we firmly believe that physical education is as important as academic excellence. Sport builds character — it teaches teamwork, resilience, discipline, and graceful winning and losing. Our sports programme is structured, progressive, and inclusive.

All students participate in regular Physical Education classes as part of the CBSE curriculum. The school's sports ground provides ample space for outdoor games, athletics, and team activities. Every child is encouraged to discover a sport they love and pursue it with enthusiasm.

We celebrate our athletes through annual sports events, inter-class competitions, and athletic meets — recognising every child's physical growth and sporting achievement.

Sports & Activities

Physical Education (PE)
Structured PE classes are part of the weekly timetable for all classes — covering warm-ups, basic athletics, team sports, and fitness activities aligned with CBSE guidelines.
Team Sports
Football, kabaddi, kho-kho, and other team games teach cooperation, strategy, and the ability to work towards a shared goal — values that extend well beyond the playing field.
Annual Sports Meet
The school hosts an Annual Sports Day — a highlight of the school calendar — where students compete in athletics, relay races, and field events, cheered on by parents and teachers.
Indoor Games
Chess, carrom, and other indoor games are available during activity periods — developing strategic thinking, concentration, and patience alongside physical pursuits.
Inclusive Sport
Physical activities are adapted to ensure all students — including those with hearing or speech impairments — can participate meaningfully and experience the joy of sport.
Health & Wellness
We promote a culture of health and well-being — regular exercise, outdoor time, and healthy habits are reinforced through both the PE programme and pastoral guidance.
